Built to support
JEOL
OEM software platforms.
Hummingbird Connect™ for JEOL is being developed to help connect Hummingbird Scientific in-situ holders with JEOL-centered microscope workflows, including tools for Python/PyJEM™, FEMTUS™, and IDES Scope Composer™.
The goal is not to replace the JEOL software environment. It is to support it. Hummingbird Connect™ is designed to help align holder status, experiment conditions, control data, timestamps, and workflow metadata with the JEOL tools researchers already use.
For JEOL laboratories, this creates a clearer pathway toward connected in-situ experiments, future workflow automation, and more complete experiment records across Hummingbird holders and JEOL microscope platforms.

Integration pathways may include:
- Python-based workflow support using PyJEM™
- FEMTUS™ control and automation support
- IDES Scope Composer™ workflow development
- Holder metadata and control-data handoff
- Experiment timing, session, and condition tracking
- Project-specific workflow development for JEOL users
Hummingbird Connect™ for JEOL is a developing product pathway. Some tools are available today, while others are configuration-dependent, project-specific, or part of the future Hummingbird Connect™ roadmap.
Why Hummingbird Connect™?
Every laboratory is different.
Microscope configurations vary. Experimental requirements evolve. Research groups often combine multiple instruments, accessories, detectors, and software platforms to achieve their scientific goals.
Hummingbird Connect™ was created to support these diverse environments by helping researchers explore connectivity opportunities between:
- In-situ TEM holders
- In-situ STEM holders
- Experimental control systems
- Gas and liquid delivery systems
- Heating and cooling platforms
- Biasing systems
- Data acquisition tools
- Laboratory workflows
- Instrument software environments
- Custom research applications
Rather than forcing researchers into a predefined software ecosystem, Hummingbird Connect™ focuses on understanding individual laboratory requirements and identifying solutions that support specific experimental objectives.
Connect Your Experiment
Advanced in-situ experiments often involve more than a microscope alone.
Researchers may need to coordinate:
- Holder operation
- Environmental control
- Gas delivery
- Liquid flow systems
- Temperature management
- Electrical biasing
- Experimental metadata
- Imaging workflows
- External laboratory equipment
Hummingbird Connect™ provides a framework for exploring how these systems can work together to support advanced microscopy experiments.
Whether your application involves electrochemistry, catalysis, cryogenic workflows, materials characterization, nanotechnology, semiconductor research, energy storage, or emerging scientific applications, our team can help evaluate potential connectivity approaches.
