Hummingbird Scientific is one of the 10 recipients of the 2021 Microscopy Today Innovation Award. Each year the award is presented to the most innovative and microscopy-related products and methods. Hummingbird received the award for the multimodel in situ bulk liquid-electrochemistry microscopy platform.

Daan Hein Alsem, Director of Research at Hummingbird Scientific received the Macres Award from the Microanalysis Society for the Best Instrumentation/Software Paper to be presented at the 2018 Microscopy and Microanalysis conference for his X-ray liquid-electrochemistry collaboration with the Prof. Chueh group.

Raymond Unocic of the Microscopy Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, in collaboration with Hummingbird Scientific, received the Birks Award from the Microanalysis Society for the Best Contributed Paper presented at the 2011 Microscopy and Microanalysis conference

The Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) awarded the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center Construction Engineering Research Laboratory for its collaboration with Hummingbird Scientific to develop new in-situ liquid TEM holder technologies including the Liquid Flow Holder.

Hummingbird Scientific has received a Tibbetts Award from the Small Business Administration (SBA) for the development of a commercially available system—the Liquid Flow Holder—for nanoscale imaging of materials in controlled fluid environments inside the transmission electron microscope.
